MAHECAS AT WORK

Chitipa District Hospital

A selection of theatre and maternity equipment worth £3,500 have been dispatched and now arrived at Chitipa hospital in the very north of Malawi.

A Mahecas monitor will soon be bale to visit Chitipa District Hospital to monitor the impact of Mahecas's work there.

Lilongwe and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospitals

Jansen Cilag, a medical company based in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, has donated laboratory kits, syringes and needles, for the sampling of blood to Lilongwe Central Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital. The equipment is valued at £1,00 and is an important contribution to healthcare work in these hospitals.

The kits were presented by the chairman, Dr. Henry Matiti, when he was in Malawi in July at an event at the Lilongwe Laboratory where the Pathologist at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, was present. Very much thanks to Jansen Cilag.

Ntchisi District Hospital

Ntchisi - further aid is currently at a planning stage for Ntchisi, one of our main regional hospitals for support.
